14 November 2017 SLC-7 anti stealth radar (photo : Defence&Security) China’s leading electronics and radar systems developer China Electronics Technology Group  Corporation (CETC) is eyeing opportunities to expand its regional customer base with its range  of long-range air surveillance, counter-stealth, and weapon locating radars. The company’s latest radar systems include the S-band phased array SLC-2E weapon locating radar (WLR), which is designed to support counter-battery missions against hostile artillery and rockets, as well as airborne threats with its air defence function. The radar is claimed to be capable of detecting stealthy aircraft or unmanned aerial systems at distances of over 450 km with a high degree of success. 07 November 2017 Images have emerged suggesting that China is testing new 6×6 amphibious armoured vehicles. The two vehicles are very similar, but one of the apparent differences is that one of them (seen below) is shorter (photo : Shephard, Army81) Images have emerged on online forums suggesting that China is testing new 6×6 amphibious armoured vehicles. The photographs appear to show two very similar, but subtly different vehicles. The first vehicle seems to follow a fairly conventional 6×6 layout, with driver and commander at the front and primary access for dismounts via a hydraulic ramp to the rear. The vehicle turret appears to be remote, thus allowing more space for dismounts in a smaller hull. The turret is equipped with a small electro-optic mast atop the turret, and a bank of grenade launchers mounted on either side of the primary armament, the latter of which appears to be a heavy machine gun. 28 Oktober 2017 Korea Tactical Surface to Surface Missile (KTSSM) at the ADEX 2017. (photos : Defence Blog) South Korea’s Hanwha Systems displayed its new tactical surface-to-surface missile, called KTSSM and known as artillery killer. The Korea Tactical Surface-to-Surface Missile (KTSSM) is a new type of ballistic guided weapon system. The missile has a range of over 120 kilometres. The tactical ground-guided weapon, which was first publicly released this time, has four missiles in one fixed launch pad. Four missiles are launched in succession. It is regarded as a powerful weapon system capable of neutralizing the enemy ‘s gunfire in the shortest time in the emergency. The KTSSM can penetrate underground targets with its powerful warhead. The new missiles can provide South Korea’s military with the capacity to destroy hardened artillery sites equipped with hundreds of long-range guns. ( Defence Blog )

(all images : Terma) Aarhus, Denmark – During ADEX 2017, Terma will introduce its concept of bringing the aircraft self-protection capability of the F-16 to the T-50 family of Light Combat Aircraft. At Terma’s booth (no D21) we will demonstrate to operators of T-50 LCA how a similar concept to that of our F-16 self-protection upgrade can be applied to the T-50 LCA family with the same low impact with respect to aircraft modification which has made the F-16 upgrade so successful for decades. We present the solution as well as mock-ups of the modified wing weapon pylon (ACE-Pylon) providing the T-50 family of LCA’s with the same capabilities as those provided to the F-16 by the PIDS pylon family, including the high increase in chaff/flare payload capacity.
