Third RAAF F-35 Makes First Flight

Photographer Carl Richards captured these images of A35-003 taking off on its first flight, from Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, on December 1. The aircraft is due to be delivered to Luke Air Force Base, Arizona in early 2018 to be used for pilot and maintainer training, before being permanently relocated to Australia in 2020. A35-003, known to its manufacturer Lockheed Martin as AU-3, had its RAAF markings, including its 3 Squadron tail flashes, applied in early November, the final phase of the aircraft’s production process. 3 Squadron is due to become the first RAAF F-35 operational unit. Kepastian tersebut didapat setelah Kementerian Pertahanan melaksanakan kunjungan kerja ke PT Daya Radar Utama (DRU) di bandar lampung selaku Badan Usaha Milik Swasta Strategis. Five Ukraine Tanks on Way to Thailand

20 November 2017 T-84 MBT of Royal Thai Army (photo : RTA) A new batch of five more tanks from Ukraine will be delivered late this month as the Royal Thai Army has so far received 31 of the Ukraine-made T84 Oplot tanks, according to an army source. Ukraine was contracted to supply a battalion of 49 T84 Oplot tanks worth 7.2 billion baht in 2011 but was slow to press ahead with production and delivery due to security problems in the country.  So far, 31 Ukrainian tanks have been sent to Thailand and the new batch of five tanks are now heading to Thailand by ship and are expected to reach the country by the end of this month, according to the source. The final batch of the remaining 13 tanks have already been manufactured and Ukraine is now waiting for an army delegation to travel there to examine the tanks late this month.  See full article Bangkok Post

NIMR Pursues Military Vehicle Sales in Thailand and Malaysia

Thailand Unveils Autonomous Truck Mounted Mortar (ATMM) 120mm

10 November 2017 Autonomous Truck Mounted Mortar (photo : Shephard) Royal Thai Army, Elbit expand collaboration on mortar and gun systems The Royal Thai Army’s (RTA’s) Weapon Production Centre (WPC) has expanded its partnership with Israeli company Elbit Systems, with the parties now collaborating on two programmes: an autonomous truck-mounted mortar (ATMM) and an autonomous truck-mounted gun (ATMG) system. Autonomous Truck Mounted Mortar (photo : Army Recognition) The ATMM project features the WPC’s production and integration of Elbit’s 120 mm Spear mortar system with a 4x4 truck supplied by Indian company Tata. The ATMG project incorporates Elbit’s ATMOS 155 mm/39-calibre self-propelled howitzer on a 6x6 10-tonne Tatra truck from the Czech Republic. Australia Sign First Contract for Nasams GBAD

TAI Hopes For The T129 Order From RTA

"T129 is equipped with the weapon from Rocketsan and avionics from Aselsan. 29 airframes are currently in service in the Turkish Army. This morning (8 Nov 2017) we have a chance to brief the commander of RTA's Aviation Center about the capability of our T129" Eral Oguz, UAS program manager and TAI representative told TAF. T129 ATAK is shortlisted by the RTA to compete with the AH-1Z Viper in the AH-1F replacement program. It's a variant of Agusta A129 Mangusta with Turkish weapon and avionics. Russia Begins Delivering T-90S/SK Tanks to Vietnam, Says Report

(photo : UralVagonZavod) Russia has begun delivering T-90S and T-90SK main battle tanks (MBTs) to Vietnam, according to a report by Russian state-owned news agency Interfax. “As a result of a series of negotiations between Russian and Vietnamese experts, a contract was signed for the delivery of T-90S and T-90SK tanks, and the parties have now started implementing it,” Interfax quoted Mikhail Petukhov, a deputy director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), as saying on 7 November. The announcement comes after Vietnamese and Russian media outlets reported earlier this year that Hanoi had ordered 64 T-90S/SK MBTs from Russia. The reports said at the time that the acquisition would be funded by credit provided by Moscow. The Korea Tactical Surface-to-Surface Missile (KTSSM) is a new type of ballistic guided weapon system. The missile has a range of over 120 kilometres. The tactical ground-guided weapon, which was first publicly released this time, has four missiles in one fixed launch pad. Four missiles are launched in succession. It is regarded as a powerful weapon system capable of neutralizing the enemy ‘s gunfire in the shortest time in the emergency. The KTSSM can penetrate underground targets with its powerful warhead.
