05 Desember 2017 A35-003 takes off from Fort Worth. (photo : AustralianAviationCarl Richards) The Royal Australian Air Force’s third F-35A Lightning II, A35-003, has completed its first flight. Photographer Carl Richards captured these images of A35-003 taking off on its first flight, from Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, on December 1. The aircraft is due to be delivered to Luke Air Force Base, Arizona in early 2018 to be used for pilot and maintainer training, before being permanently relocated to Australia in 2020. A35-003, known to its manufacturer Lockheed Martin as AU-3, had its RAAF markings, including its 3 Squadron tail flashes, applied in early November, the final phase of the aircraft’s production process. 3 Squadron is due to become the first RAAF F-35 operational unit. Marsun shed more light on its USV project.
The USV-10 is Marsun's USV research and development project in cooperation with the Royal Thai Navy. The USV capable of performing the patrol and attack mission, search and rescue mission, and surveillance and reconnaissance. The overall length is 10 m and 3.20 m beam. It can reach more than 45 knots of maximum speed while cruise speed is 35 knots. Operational range is 300 nm and can withstand the Sea State 3. Hull is made from composite material with 2 outboard engines.
The front deck can accommodate the 5.56 mm or 7.62 mm remote-control weapon. LRAD or Laser Dazzler can be used in the non-lethal mission. The view can be seen through the EO and 360-degree camera with the chaff/flare and smoke launcher provide the protection.
Two Maxa beam enable the search effort in the night. The weapon station can be replaced by the firefighting module along with the life rafts for search and rescue mission or launch the drone for the surveillance and reconnaissance mission. The ship also has a bridge for the manned mission.
